Streamlines I for violin and elecx
duration: 15'
Through imaginary lines stream water, information, ethers, electricity, thoughts, both physical as well as virtual. In ‘Streamlines I’ some of these images are reminiscent of waters in a landscape - Serpentines and Riffles. The violin is heard in a conversation, an orchestration with and of itself, sometimes against fields of long vibrating noisy lines, sometimes as ascending and descending lines in microtonal steps, sometimes in repeated patterns of circling melodic motives traded off with sharply bouncing ricochets. The fixed media alternates between miming the acoustic violin and stretching it to distortion.
